The Day Trippers
Wellington Covers Band | 5 Band Members
The Day Trippers specialise in psychedelic rock, soul and rock and roll from the 60s and 70s. With a setlist bursting with great songs by artists like The Beatles, Creedence, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac and David Bowie, the band will take you back to the Summer of Love so you can turn on, tune in and drop out!
The Day Trippers strive for the palpable raw energy of the 1960s and 1970s psychedelic era, with authentic playing, wild performances and vintage tones. They are musically tight knit, having performed together in various guises as touring artists.
Singer Miles Calder delivers cutting lyrics with an expressive voice and unbridled passion for the music. Calder has written and recorded two albums as Miles Calder & The Rumours and toured throughout New Zealand. He was a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, and has been a nominee for the Taite Music Prize (Best Album) and RIANZ Best Country Music Album.

The Day Trippers played 2 solid hours at my 60th. The dance floor was always occupied. If you're after the genuine sound of 60s and 70s rock, Dylan, Stones, Beatles, Floyd, Van Morrison etc, this is your band. Immaculate musicianship and vocals.
